Matt Sims

Matt specialises in urban sustainability and place activation and has 10 years’ experience leading the strategy and delivery of complex placemaking projects including mixed use development, public realm improvements and activation, cultural installations and public amenities for both the private sector and local authorities across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Matt's understanding of placemaking as a driver for economic, cultural and environmental change coupled with his approach of tapping into the culture, communities and identity of a place ensures that his projects deliver for local needs, drive social impact and contribute to destination value.

Matt is advising clients and leading a programme of transformational public realm schemes in London's West End.

Matt's experience includes working client side for Barking Riverside, London delivering a new placemaking strategy, developing activation strategies for the public realm and launching the Emerge East festival and has previously worked with clients to deliver some of the most ambitious mixed-use schemes in the UK, including Silvertown, London for Lendlease and the Wellcome Genome Campus, Cambridge.
